Operation Squirrel Eradication
as hopeless as this sounds--i've heard a squirrel can't be beat, if he wants to live in your attic, he will..--i tried to plug a hole under one of my attic roof eaves this afternoon.......if i'm lucky, it'll keep the squirrel out for a week or so!!
this is how i enter my attic--through a lift-off panel in the ceiling of my master bedroom closet...

i have another roommate
i'm sure you all knew i had 4 cats, but otherwise, i thought i lived by myself.....Wrong!! this squirrel has taken up residency in my attic....and i must evict, him, soon, before his collection of empty walnut shells grows too large to clean up.....

i also had a new door installed...
...which the cats also love!!
it is a perfect door for a house with cats because it is "full-view" [see-through all the way to the floor], but also has a built-in screen--the top half--which simply pulls down, and then retracts like the blind on a window when i want full insulation in the wintertime....

getting a new window in the kitchen....
this is glenn and his brother and the brother's son. they came to my house wednesday to do some work, and finished it today....the window in the kitchen was falling apart, probably from water damage. the window sills were rotten as were the outside posts.....so now i have a new energy-efficient window...but for a few hours, all i had was a hole in the side of my house!
